I reached out about an issue with launching framemaker before with one of the support reps and tried the fixes given to me but those still did not resolve the issue. It was suggested to reset user files and have the program run at admin level as well but those fixes did not resolve the issue for the user running it. The user also wants to now use it in unstructured mode as well. After resetting the maker.ini files we were able to get it to run in structured mode but not in unstructured mode
Below is the following previous chat i had with what i tried and fix provided.
"I have an issue with a user trying to launch adobe framemaker 11. it freezes when it starts up. this is being done on a windows 7 pc. I'm able to launch it with an admin account and he doesn't have admin privileges on the system. it's been updated to the latest version and reinstalled. i've reset the maker.ini in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker i've reset the Linguistic folder in C:\Users\mmehrotr\AppData\Roaming\Adobe and in C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Adobe and tried launching it then and it still freezes on start up with a generic windows dialogue box.
Maninder: Right click on FM 11 icon > go to properties > click on "compatibility" > click on "change settings for all users" > new window will popup > check "run this program as an administrator" > ok
