Recently we switched to FrameMaker 11 from FrameMaker 6. We use FrameScript 5.2 to automate saving books as PDF files (the script updates the conditionial settings in the book, saves the book as a single file at the location provided on the reference page and closes the book). For some reason the script that worked great on FM6 does not want to work properly on FM11. Although FM11 creates the PDF file correctly using Distiller, it just keeps processing the book for several more minutes taking all the computer power (new Dell M6600 laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Intel i7 CPU and 16GB of RAM) and closes FM11 without any warning. The FrameScript command that seems to cause the problem is:
Save BookObject(currentbook) File(pdfpath) FileType(SaveFmtPdf) AlertUserAboutFailure(True);
I can save the same book without any issues using File>Save As PDF or File>Print Book but then I have to show the location and with hundreds of books saved at different locations it can be a little time consuming.
Any idea if this can be fixed?
